Carter Jonas, the national property consultancy, has appointed Chris Anderson as a partner working across the firm’s offices in the south west.

Chris joins from Savills where he was based for four years in the Truro team. Before this, he was at Smiths Gore, which he joined as a graduate working his way to associate partner level.

Chris has a wealth of knowledge and expertise in the rural sector, advising clients on a wide range of matters including strategic planning and development, estate management, farm sales and purchase, compulsory acquisition and utilities, and valuation of property for tax, secured lending and farm and estate diversification.

James Stephen, partner of south west rural, Carter Jonas, said: “It is a pleasure to welcome Chris to Carter Jonas. Chris is known for delivering sound and effective advice on a range of property matters and is a well-respected figure within the rural and development sectors locally. His experience, particularly in planning and development matters, complements the skills and knowledge of our team and will be invaluable as we look to grow our market share across the region.”

Chris responded: “This is an exciting time to be joining Carter Jonas, a highly regarded business within the industry, at both a local and national level. Its partnership structure allows operations to reflect local markets and their nuances whilst being able to draw on the expertise of the wider business in certain key relevant sectors.”

Chris’ appointment follows several significant developments for the Carter Jonas south west rural team. In 2017, Carter Jonas opened new offices in Taunton and Truro, and a second office in Marlborough.

Part of this expansion included the arrival of David Hebditch, Craig Horton, Christopher Jerram, Marie Handel and Caroline Lawrence alongside a number of other staff from their teams.
