Writes Trevor Bevins
A six-stable barn with a tack room, feed room and store at Carters Barn Farm, Piddlehinton has been granted planning permission.
The 250 square metre building will have one member of staff.
Piddle Valley Parish council objected to the application on safety grounds, expressing concern about the access and an increase in traffic along London Row.
The six stables are said to be mainly for private use, allowing three other stables to be freed up for the livery business to expand into, from 13 to 16 stables.
“Traffic flow will not grow greatly and will still remain relatively small. Two of the proposed stables would be offered for horse holidays in connection with the applicant’s existing holiday cottages,” said a supporting document.
Dorset Highways had raised no concerns over the proposal.
