PLANS to build more than 500 homes at Folletts Farm in Bridgwater have come to light this week.
Developers Hannick Homes have submitted a 'Environment Impact Assessment' scoping opinion request- this is a request submitted prior handing in a full planning application.
The proposal is for a total of up to 560 homes on land at Folletts Farm off Dunwear Lane, Bridgwater.
The proposed scheme would be delivered on a 21 hectare plot of land located on the eastern side of Bridgwater, to the west of the M5 motorway.
The development would be served by two priority T-junctions onto Dunwear Lane.
A new roundabout on the A372 associated with the adjacent development site at Bower Farm will provide a new four-arm junction to facilitate access to both the sites north and south of the A372.
A new pumping station would be created, and it is indicated open space and play areas will be incorporated into the full application.
It states in the EIA application: "Due to the proximity to the M5 motorway on the east of the Site, a noise attenuation buffer will be proposed along the eastern boundary of the site.
"This is most likely to take the form of an earth bund and acoustic fence, which based on current analysis, will be approximately six metres high, but the final details will be subject to ongoing design and assessment work."
