Part of a wooden jetty and viewing platform at RSPB Radipole Lake in Dorset was destroyed in a blaze which saw smoke and flames rage at the site on Friday night.
It is the latest in a series of vandal attacks at the sensitive bird reserve.
A spokesman for Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said that two fire engines attended the blaze on Friday night.
"We were called to Radipole Lake at 9.08pm on Friday and found the wooden ramp leading to the viewing platform well alight, along with an area of reeds," they said.
A spokesman for Dorset Police said the fire is believed to have been started deliberately.
"Enquiries are underway. No arrests have been made," they added.
