There have been more agricultural vehicle fires in Devon this weekend.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service received several reports of a tractor on fire in the Black Dog area on Sunday morning.

Fire engines from Witheridge and Chumleigh were mobilised and arrived on scene shortly after. The fire was extinguished, however the tractor was completely destroyed by fire. The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental.

On Saturday the Fire Service were called to reports of an agricultural vehicle on fire on the road from Twitchen Cross to Barton Road, West Down.

Fire Control sent one fire engine from Ilfracombe and one fire engine and the water carrier from Barnstaple.

Once the crew got in attendance the officer in charge confirmed one agricultural vehicle well alight and leaking fuel on the roadway. The crew got to work with the use of two breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet and one main jet, whilst also working to contain leaking fuel coming from the vehicle.

The vehicle suffered from 100 per cent damage caused by the fire and approximately 200 meters of hedge row were also damaged.

The cause of this fire is also believed to have been accidental.
