A fair entry of prime cattle met a firm trade in line with recent weeks for good conformation cattle.

Second quality and non-Farm Assured cattle are in demand but at a lower price.

Top price per kilo was 184p for a Limousin x heifer from a quality entry from Messrs. F.T. & F.M. Johns of Cury purchased by J.V. Richards Ltd of Perranwell Station.

Limousin x steers from the same farm saw a pair sell at 180p/kg to David King of Exeter with the heaviest at 707kg also achieving top value of £1,273.

Top price of the day was £860 for a pair of 18mo Devon x Limousin steers from Mr. J.R. Julyan of Tresillian with a younger pair of Aberdeen Angus crosses next in line at £805 for Mr. J. Symons of Threemilestone.

A super bunch of four Simmental crosses from Messrs. G.E.R. & C.E.R. James of Rosudgeon sold well at £600.

On the heifer side, again mostly younger cattle with top prices for natives including £725 for Aberdeen Angus and £710 for Herefords.
