Police are looking for a tractor driver who they say could be a "key witness" to a crash that left a motorcyclist from Falmouth with potentially life changing injuries.

The collision between the motorcycle and a car took place on the main A394 Falmouth to Helston road two weeks ago, on Tuesday, August 27.

The two vehicles collided between Retanna and Edgcumbe at around 2.15pm, leaving a 33-year-old man from the Falmouth area being taken to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth, where he is still recovering from potentially life changing injuries.

He was initially described by police at the time as having suffered a serious pelvic injury, but had been expected to make a full recovery.

Now police are hoping to track down a tractor driver who was on the road around that time, who they believe might have vital information about the circumstances leading up to the crash.

A police spokesperson said this morning: “Police are appealing for any witnesses with any information and/or dash camera footage to please come forward, unless they have already been in contact with officers at the scene.

“Specifically, the police would like to speak to the driver of a red tractor that was towing a blue trailer and was heading towards Retanna. The driver of this vehicle may be a key witness to the collision in question.”

Local police officers and specialist officers from the Roads Policing Team attended the crash scene and closed the road for four hours while they launched a full examination.

To pass on information to police call 101 quoting log 477 of August 27.
