A DIGGER has been 'severely damaged' in a late-night fire.

Emergency services rushed to Upcott Lane, Bicknoller, at 12.51am this morning (September 4).

Two fire engines from Williton attended the scene, to discover the blaze also involved a pile of wood and a skip.

A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue spokesman said: "Crews arrived and confirmed the fire well alight.

"Compressed air foam, breathing apparatus and hose reel jets were used to put the fire out, along with a thermal imaging camera to check it was extinguished fully.

"The digger was severely damaged in the blaze, and the cause was deemed as accidental."
