A lamb who had become trapped on a cliff after being chased over the edge by a dog has been rescued by the RSPCA.
The animal welfare charity was contacted after the young sheep was chased over the edge of cliffs near Northcott Mouth, Bude, Cornwall.
The dramatic rescue saw a team of specially trained RSPCA rope rescue officers carefully lift the lamb back to safety.
RSPCA deputy chief inspector Suzy Hannaby said: “This was an urgent rescue due to the hot weather as the sheep had no water, food or shade from the sun.
“Thankfully the team were able to successfully reunite the sheep with the farmer but we hope it serves as a warning for owners to keep their dogs under control around livestock, and while close to the cliffs along the coastline.”
