The Bath & West Showground’s inaugural An Evening With event will see Amanda Owen, The Yorkshire Shepherdess, take a trip down the A1(M) from Swaledale to Shepton Mallet on Wednesday 20 November 2019.

In the Wessex Pavilion, the shepherdess, farmer’s wife, mother of nine, photographer and bestselling author will be sharing stories from her fascinating farming life.

Amanda first found fame on the ITV series The Dales, but it was the publication of her first book in 2014 that really installed her in the public consciousness. The Sunday Times bestseller The Yorkshire Shepherdess chronicles Amanda’s transformation from Huddersfield townie to rural sheep farmer.

Praised for her funny, heart-warming and inspirational narrative, the book describes how she and her family live on a 2,000-acre hill farm in one of the highest, most remote places in England.

Since then Amanda has appeared in numerous tv shows including; Countrywise, Masterchef, Ben Fogle’s New Lives in the Wild, and Our Yorkshire Farm. She has also published another two books both of which made The Sunday Times bestsellers list.

At the event Amanda will be reading from her books and giving a slideshow.
