Auctioneers Greenslade Taylor Hunt completed three very different sales in just five days showing the range in skills that the team possesses.

The first sale comprised 450 head of commercial dairy cattle held on farm at Wedmore where the team sold the entire catalogue in six hours to buyers from across the whole of the south of England and Wales.

Then they returned to Sedgemoor Auction Centre, the largest livestock market in the south west, and held their annual Spotlight Sale of elite dairy cattle.

The sale produced 5000gns for a Red and White calf that travelled from Shropshire and ended up selling to dairy farmers from West Wales.

The sale featured some of the very best bred dairy cattle in the country and attracted buyers from as far as Northern Ireland and all across England and Wales, with the prices achieved and the accessibility and facilities at Sedgemoor being widely praised.

The third sale of the week coincided with the firm’s weekly Saturday Market, which boasts the largest one day market in the country selling stores, sheep, dairy, calves, pigs and poultry. This was the major reduction of the Dymond Blues herd, featuring some outstanding British Blue cattle that will no doubt be found in some of the show rings across the country this summer. This sale pushed prices achieved higher producing top price of the week at 6000gns for a six-year-old Cow with January Born Calf at foot.

The following week featured a catalogued collective dairy sale at Sedgemoor including consignments of cattle from various vendors of all sizes from a single cow through to mini dispersals of up to 100. In addition they were also staging one of their quarterly machinery sales at Sedgemoor with tractors down to hand tools being offered.
