The equine stars and stunt riders from the popular television series such as Poldark, Victoria and Peaky Blinders will be saddling up and making a welcome return to the Royal Cornwall Show on June 6, 7 and 8.

The Atkinson Action Horses have spent more than twenty years training horses and riders to feature in film & TV productions including five series of Poldark.

The stunt team were a big hit with the Royal Cornwall crowds when they made their debut at the 2016 show.

Their latest act will feature their astounding brand of horseback acrobatics including Roman riding, drags, falls, pick-ups, flips and rearing horses.

Mark Atkinson, founder of Atkinson Action Horses, was the horse master in charge of the action during the filming of all five Poldark series.

“We really enjoy our time in Cornwall and have found the people to be really friendly and helpful, just like back home in East Yorkshire.”

The stunt riders appearing at the Royal Cornwall, including Mark’s son Benjamin who has acted as Aidan Turner’s stunt double in Poldark, thoroughly enjoy performing to a live audience.

“Our riders really look forward to performing for the crowds at shows. They get a real buzz from a crowd that they just don’t get when they are filming.”

Christopher Riddle, Royal Cornwall Agricultural Association secretary said: “The Atkinson Action Horses were so well received the last time they were with us so we are very much looking forward to seeing their amazing display.”
