Farmers are being invited to bring fresh grass samples to NSA Sheep South West for a free ‘on the spot’ analysis.
Limagrain, suppliers of LG Seeds grass mixtures, will test fresh grass samples for farmers at the Harpers stand at the show using its NIRS mobile testing machine. This will provide an immediate nutritional analysis of the crop.
Any grower bringing a sample for test will be able to find out the key nutritional attributes of their grass such as metabolizable energy, sugar and digestible fibre content. They will also be entered into a free prize draw to win ten acres of Monarch LGAN-accredited Multigraze grass seed.
Limagrain seed specialist John Spence said: “We are hoping to demonstrate the value of high-quality grass seed mixtures and the importance of considering the nutritional qualities of the seed mixture, as well as its agronomic values."
NSA Sheep South West takes place in Southcott, Burrington, Devon on June 18.
