Mark Blakeney, a farmer from Wiltshire, has over the last decade managed to expand his flock to twenty times its original size.
Having started with just 30 sheep ten years ago, he now breeds 600 mule ewes.
A first generation farm owner, Mark runs the farm with his wife Alice and three sons. Together they have also diversified the business beyond lamb, and are now also breeding pedigree and hybrid rams.
Mark is one of Aldi’s West Country Lamb breeders. He said: “When I started out on my own with just a small flock, I could not have imagined the growth we’ve enjoyed over the past ten years. I’m looking forward to continuing to work with Aldi in the future so that, with their support, we can help to put Wiltshire firmly on the foodie map by showcasing some of the best produce we have to offer.”
