DRIVING whilst "unfit through drink" has led to a man living near Falmouth losing his licence.

Alexander Charles Hamilton, of Mylor Downs, was caught driving a Nissan Micra on Bissom Road, Penryn on February 22.

Magistrates in Truro fined the 20-year-old £355 and ordered him to pay £85 costs and a £35 surcharge, also banning him from driving for 12 months, after he pleaded guilty.

TWO driving offences saw a Penryn man before the court last week.

William Alec Champman was found to have driven a Kia on Station Road, Truro on November 29 last year, when one of his front tyres had insufficient tread and he had no insurance.

He was fined £660 by magistrates in Bodmin and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £66 surcharge, with seven points added to his licence.

A MAN from Flushing has been fined for having both the front tyres of his BMW showing exposed ply or cord.

Ethan Fearn, of Kersey Road, appeared before magistrates in Bodmin, where he was fined £440.

The 28-year-old also had to pay £85 prosecution costs and a £44 surcharge for the two offences in Tresawls Road, Truro on November 27 last year.

BEING in possession of a butane gas cannister has resulted in a prison sentence for a 27 year-old man.

Shane Neil Arthur, of fixed abode, admitted breaching a criminal behaviour order in Camborne on March 10.

He was jailed for 12 weeks because magistrates said the offence was a "flagrant disregard" of court orders.

He was also ordered to pay £115 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

A MAN has ended up with an electronic tag after assaulting a woman in Helston last month.

Joe Alan Wall, of Murdoch Close, Redruth, pleaded guilty to the assault on February 19.

The 42-year-old was ordered by magistrates in Truro to pay £200 compensation and was given an eight-week curfew, from 7pm to 7am every Friday, Saturday and Sunday, with an additional rehabilitation activity order.

Magistrates also issued him with a two-year restraining order preventing him from contacting his victim or from going to an address in Coinagehall Street.

A WOMAN from Germoe who failed to attend three appointments with her supervisor after a time in prison has been brought back before the court.

Holly Victoria Gothe, of Valley View, admitted breaching the conditions of her licence on February 7, 14 and 21.

Magistrates in Truro have now given the 24-year-old an electronic tag and curfew for 28 days, preventing her from leaving her house between 10pm and 10am every day of the week expect Saturdays.

DESTROYING a door frame to the value of £1,200 has resulted in a community order for a Barripper man.

Wayne Frederick Back, aged 27, of Fore Street, admitted damaging the UPVC door in Redruth on February 19.

The order places him under curfew via electronic tagging for eight weeks. He was ordered to pay £200 compensation.

A BLACKWATER man failed to give information relating to the identification of the driver alleged to have committed an offence.

Nicholas Dagnall, aged 49, of Carnhot, committed the offence on October 22.

He was fined £660 and ordered to pay £85 costs and £66 victim surcharge.

His licence was endorsed with six points.

AN overnight burglary of Warrens Bakery has landed a 32 year-old woman in prison.

Zoey Marie Daly, c/o Pathway Fields, Hayle, originally denied the offence but later admitted entering the bakery in Penzance on January 27, stealing various items.

She admitted another offence of stealing £304.51 from Asda, Hayle, on January 12.

Magistrates sentenced her to 102 days in prison, saying that the offence was so serious because it was deliberate offending involving a night burglary, aggravated by previous convictions.

She was also ordered to pay compensation of £304.51.

STEALING DVDs to the value of £159.95 has resulted in a community order for a Redruth man.

Jason Mark Price, aged 42, of Penventon Terrace, admitted committing the offence from HMV in Truro on August 28 last year.

He must attend the Thinking Skills programme for 19 days and undertake a Rehabilitation Activity Requirement.

He was also ordered to pay £100 compensation.

DAMAGING an Audi A3 to the value of £500 has resulted in a restraining order for an Illogan man.

Isaac Leon Gaunt, aged 22, of Alexandra Road, admitted committing the offence in Camborne on February 22.

The restraining order prohibits him from contacting the victim to whom the car belonged.

He was fined £120 and ordered to pay £85 costs and £30 victim surcharge.

Ashley David Trescowthick, aged 28, of Wellington Close, committed the offence on September 26.

He was fined £660 and ordered to pay £85 costs and £66 victim surcharge.

His licence was endorsed with six points.
