Watson Marlow Fluid Technology Group will become the charity’s main corporate sponsor following the donation.

Sales director for APAC and Africa Martin Johnston said: “We are a business that is driven by our commitment to corporation social responsibility – and a key part of this is our active role within our local community.

"The opportunity to help such an important cause is both rewarding and exciting. Turn to Starboard is an inspirational charity and it has already achieved a great deal in such a small period of time. Our partnership is based on shared values and passion we share for helping people.”

The company is a world leading manufacturer of fluid path technologies whose headquarters are in Falmouth Business Park.

Launched in 2014, Turn to Starboard is a registered charity offering support to Armed Forces personnel and the families of those affected by military operations.

The charity provides Royal Yachting Association (RYA) sailing courses and opportunities to serving and retired servicemen and women to help them re-adjust after operational tours.

Turn to Starboard CEO and founder Shaun Pascoe added: "This partnership will raise much needed support and awareness of our work. The vital funds we receive will help injured veterans from all over the UK. We’re really excited about working with WMFTG and making a difference over the coming year and beyond."
