A CRASH blocked a road in Penryn this afternoon.

The B3292 Commercial Road in the Harbour Village area was reported by traffic service Inrix as being blocked in both directions.

Police said that a motorcyclist had come off their bike, but was not seriously injured.

It was causing problems between Ponsharden Roundabout and Eastwood Road, but traffic has now returned to normal.

Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service said it was called at around 1.20pm and five firefighters in one applicance from Falmouth attended.

A spokesman said: "The road traffic collision involved a motorbike, the rider of the bike was being treated on scene by first responders.

"Firefighters used one hose reel jet to wash spilt fuel from the highway."
