Princess Pavilion will be filled with light on Sunday as the annual lantern making workshop is held in readiness for the Christmas Parade on the following Thursday.

This year’s theme is Aladdin to celebrate Miracle Theatre’s pantomime, which they are performing at the Falmouth venue during December.

The workshop is open to all ages with participants being guided through the process of making their Aladdin’s lamp by artist Reg Payn.

Jacqui Owen, visitor and community engagement officer for Falmouth Town Council said: "This is a wonderful workshop for members of the community to be part of and for some it has become part of their Christmas tradition.

"Reg takes everyone through the process step by step, so at the end of the session all those taking part will have their own handmade lantern to parade through the town with on Thursday to celebrate the town’s lights being switched on. It’s a great way to start the festive season.”

The workshop is on Sunday, November 25 in the theatre at Princess Pavilion, Melvill Road, Falmouth at 9.45am, for a 10am prompt start and is £5 per lantern.

Children must be accompanied by adult helpers.
