The Devon County Agricultural Association (DCAA) is delighted to announce that HRH, The Prince of Wales, is to extend his patronage of the Association.

HRH the Prince of Wales has been Patron of the DCAA since 2002 when he took over the role from Her Majesty The Queen.

The DCAA is proud to be the only Agricultural Society in Devon to have The Prince of Wales’s patronage.

Since becoming patron, Prince Charles has attended, or been represented by his wife The Duchess of Cornwall at the Devon County Show, the DCAA’s flagship event, on three occasions.

Earlier this summer, the DCAA took part in a Countryside Parade at the Royal Cornwall Show, an event comprising 58 of HRH’s rural patronages and designed to celebrate all aspects of rural life. HRH The Prince of Wales who turns seventy later this year, and The Duchess of Cornwall, were both in attendance.

The Prince of Wales also supports the DCAA with an annual Prince of Wales Award which is open to Devon-based community organisations including schools, small farm businesses and diversification projects seeking to educate and involve young people in sustainable initiatives.

Mary Quicke MBE, the DCAA’s Chairman of Council said: "We have just received the news from Clarence House and are delighted with the decision. We are aware that His Royal Highness can only maintain a limited number of positions. The fact that he has decided to remain with the DCAA is testament to its unrelenting commitment to the countryside, environment and the rural community – shared values which we know are very close to the Prince’s heart."
