Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to contact them following a recent spate of burglaries to shops in the West Cornwall area.

The burglaries took place between 1am and 3am on Wednesday, July 18, 2018.

The first incident happened at around 1.30am at Mccolls in Redruth, nothing was taken however, damage was caused to windows.

The second incident happened at around 2.15am at a Spar on Meneage Street in Helston. The offenders caused damage but left empty handed.

The third incident happened on Wednesday, July 18 at around 2.40am at Crowlas Post Office and Stores in Crowlas in Penzance.

Three men are believed to have entered the shop and used crowbars to smash through windows to gain entry. Cigarettes amounting to around £3,500 were stolen in the burglary.

The last incident happened at West Country Classics in Rosudgeon in Penzance at around 9.30am. Three men broke in and stole a number of cigarettes amounting to around £1,000.

All of the above incidents are believed to be connected.
