LISKEARD-LOOE 28pts HELSTON 0pts
BOTH Helston senior sides travelled to Liskeard and Looe and went down heavily to the home teams.
The first XV lost 28-0 in a Cornwall One league game that had few highlights for the small band of visiting fans. The second team were also defeated soundly by their opponents 36-0.
To compound their woes Helston Rugby Club have been deducted two points from the league and removed from the Skinner's Cornwall Clubs' Cup competition for fielding an unregistered player. These events took place in a league game against Stithians on December 16 and the cup game against Bodmin on January 6 and were due to an administrative error within the Helston club.
Helston must now regroup and concentrate on the remainder of the league season and attempt to put this whole matter behind them. They are due to entertain Redruth Albany in a friendly on Saturday, at King George V playing field, kicking off at 2.30 pm.
