GRASSLAND UK, the country's major national grassland triennial event, makes a popular return to farmland adjoining the Bath and West Showground on Thursday, May 7, 2009.
It is delighted to welcome back Masstock Arable UK Ltd and Natwest as main sponsors of the Show.
The much respected one-day event looks to cover every aspect of the livestock farmer's interests, from seeds to feeds, machinery demonstrations, plus a technical advice area, seminars and clamp demonstrations and trade stands from all sectors of the industry.
Grassland UK 2009 brings the livestock farmer all the latest innovations and ideas.
The show continues to grow and expand in response to high demand and planned new features for 2009 include muck demonstrations, technical advice on soil structure and the latest developments on dealing with effluent, an NVZ focus and advice regarding tractor trailer legislation.
The show will take place on land farmed by Mark Dunford who has been great supporter of Grassland UK for many years.
Sixty acres have been reseeded in October 2008, in close association with main sponsor Masstock Arable UK Ltd, to produce quality leys in time for the Show in May. The mixture being used is Cut Master.
This mixture is designed to give two high-quality silage cuts per year and then back end grazing. It consists of Italian and Hybrid ryegrass to give huge early yields and intermediate perennials to improve second cut quality and make sure the ley lasts four years.
