After its debut in 2017, Rymer's Rally, the vintage tractor run in Wimborne St Giles, is back.

Symonds & Sampson has a strong tradition in fundraising for local charities and many colleagues do the company proud by running marathons, baking cakes and all manner of other activities in the name of charity.

So when asked rural agent Nick Rymer was asked what he could do to raise money he said: "I panicked, largely because I knew I would never manage a marathon, and I very much doubt my baking skills would be up to producing anything….edible.

"So instead, I suggested a charity tractor run, the first of which was held last June. After much frantic preparation, Immy Robinson and I were delighted with the result – we saw 50 tractors and 300 attendees on that first rally – raising over £3,000 for charity.

"So, we realised we would have to do it again! And this year, our second Charity Tractor Rally will be held on May 27. We hope to attract as many tractors as we can, before setting off a scenic tour around the Shaftesbury Estate."

Those without tractors are welcome to go along and take a ride in one of the dedicated passenger trailers to enjoy the route before returning to HQ for a BBQ, beer and other entertainment.

If you are interested in entering a vehicle, please call Nick Rymer on 01202 639 403 for an entry form or if you’d like to purchase tickets for a passenger ride and BBQ, contact Immy Robinson on 01305 236578.

All proceeds will go to Ducks & Drakes which is a charity that supports young people with bowel cancer and Future Roots which uses farming for rehabilitation.
