Despite heavy rain on proceeding days the Woolsery & District Agricultural Show went ahead on Monday, July 31 at Clovelly Court.

“A team of tractor drivers assisted anyone who got stuck in the mud but generally speaking the ground held up well and improved in the sunshine on the day”, said new show secretary, Andrée Carter.

Show chairman, Pat Martin commented, “A record number of competitors entered this year with horse, sheep, fleeces, dog show and handicraft entries well up on previous years. We have a reputation for a great family day out and friendly atmosphere and the good weather worked in our favour.“

Hounds and huntsmen from five different packs paraded in the main ring and the public were invited to meet the hounds and ask questions.
