Devon and Cornwall hosts two successful stock shows

TWO successful Prime Stock Shows were held in Devon and Cornwall recently.

Exeter Primestock Show, was held as usual at the cattle market in Exeter.

The Supreme Beef Championship was won by Simon David from Porlock near Minehead with a 17 month old purebred Limousin steer called ‘On The Phone.’ Robert Darke and Judith Lapthorne, from Kingsbridge, Devon, were delighted to win the Supreme Sheep Championship with their pair of Texel cross butchers lambs.

At the Wadebridge Prime Stock & Produce Show at the Royal Cornwall Showground the Supreme Champion Butchers Pair of Lambs was Texel Crosses, owned and bred by Amy Payne from St Newlyn East, Newquay. This was the 4th successive Championship at Wadebridge for the Paynes, who have also taken the same prize at Liskeard Prime Stock Show for eight years in succession - this year with these lambs.

Supreme cattle Champion was this 16 month old British Blue x Limousin Heifer ‘Pepsi’, owned by five year old Riley Grigg and his three year old brother Max from Higher Tresawle, Probus, Truro, and shown by their mother Clare.
