Stags on-site sales team were delighted with the trade from start to finish as a huge crowd descended on Stowford Grange Farm, Lewdown, near Okehampton last month.
The car parks only just coped and with 485 people registering to buy the only thing that ran out was the food in the canteen.
With 11 tractors and a wide range of modern farm machinery on offer it was the first ‘proper’ farm sale this year attracting purchasers from Ireland, Northern England, Midland and Wales.
All the machinery had been well looked after and presented excellently by vendors Eddie and Mary Vigers who will now retire to live near their daughter in Crediton, the farm having already been sold by Stags.
