Buoyant trade at Exmouth sale
BUYERS from all parts of the South West and as far a field as Carlisle attended the dispersal sale of the Maervale' herd of Holsteins held at green Farm, Exmouth, Devon on behalf of Ian and Linda Skinner who had decided to switch from milking Holsteins to Jerseys.
A very buoyant trade saw the 86 in-calf cows average £1,675.73 with 35 Heifer calves sold after their mothers' average of £701.45.
Top Price was 2,500gns for Maervale Mayel Surprise, a second calf daughter of Mayel Gang 40ltr being purchased by Henry and Emma Vooght, of Bovey Tracey, who also took 16 other lots to join their newly established Holstein herd.
