Land Registry visit shows

Farmers can find out how easy it is to secure their land ownership when Land Registry visits two South West shows this month.

Land Registry representatives will attend Stithians Show on 14 July, and the Yealmpton Show on 30 July.

They will be on hand to discuss the benefits of voluntary land registration and answer visitors' questions. Landowners who register their land voluntarily also benefit from a 25 per cent discount on the normal registration fee.

Land Registry is encouraging landowners to voluntarily register their land, to help secure and protect what they own.

In Cornwall, 38 per cent of land remains unregistered compared to 34 per cent in Devon. Bev Crocker, Register Development Manager for Devon and Cornwall said: "Registration is straightforward and offers the best possible safeguard of land ownership. It clarifies who owns what and ensures information is in one place and easy to access."

Land Registry can be found at stand F81 at the Stithians Show and at stand C2, at the Yealmpton Show.
