More than £2,500 has been raised by Cornish Mutual employees for a farming charity providing much-needed help and support in rural communities.

Stephen Dennis, ?Regional Director at the Farming Community Network, visited Cornish Mutual this week (January 12) to receive a cheque for £2,604 from the South West rural insurer.

The Farming Community Network (FCN) were one of eight companies Cornish Mutual chose to support during 2016, with employees organising a range of fundraising activities throughout the year. The donation to the FCN will help fund its ongoing practical and pastoral support for members of the farming community during difficult times.

Sharon Plowright, Head of Sales and Operations at Cornish Mutual said the company was delighted to continue its longstanding support of the FCN. She added: “Rural charities in the South West do very important work supporting our communities. It’s important to have a trusted and confidential support network to fall back on when people hit difficult times. I would like to thank everyone at Cornish Mutual who helped raise so much during 2016.”

Cornish Mutual is proud to raise money for a number of rural charities and alongside partners Edward Buckland Chartered Surveyors and Auctioneers and PKF Francis Clark, the company helped raise more than £11,400 for the Farming Help Charities at the third annual Cornish Supper & Charity Auction held during the Royal Cornwall Show in June, 2016.
