Want something to plough your time into on Saturday, October 8 and Sunday, October 9? Organisers are putting the wheels in motion to bring tractor enthusiasts a fantastic event at Newbury Showground in Hermitage.

“Tractor World Autumn” comes to the venue following the continuing popularity of its traditional show season opener in the spring. A major industry show which has been running for 15 years, the Tractor World show is a key date on the agricultural calendar and runs from 9am to 5pm on the Saturday and 9.30am to 4.30pm on the Sunday.

Celebrating historic tractors in all their glory, visitors can look forward to restoration and practical demos and the chance to get their hands on some highly covetable parts from specialised suppliers . Head down to the event on the Saturday for an auction by H J Pugh and Co or get yourself along on Sunday for the classic truck and van display plus the ‘agrijumble’ sort out spares section.

Located just half mile from junction 13 of the M4, Tractor World Autumn – organised by the same team that brought the Tractor World show to Malvern in the spring, this event brings together the best in both vintage tractors and agricultural machinery, along with stationary engines and scale models.

If all that wasn’t enough though, there will also be club displays, classic commercial vehicles, trade stands, autojumble, miniature steam engines, horticultural and implements.

Heading up the team is Mark Woodward, who said: “We already have a good entry of exhibits and trade stands, and it is still early days! The new exhibition building at Newbury Showground is now finished and Howard Pugh already has some interesting lots booked in for the Saturday sale. Clubs booked so far include Blue Force, David Brown Tractor Club, Ferguson Club, Friends of Ferguson Heritage, Ford & Fordson Association, International Harvester Club of Great Britain, Nuffield & Leyland Tractor Club, Thames Valley NVTEC and Vintage Horticultural & Garden Machinery Club.”

Keen to replicate the popularity of the Tractor World Spring road run, Thames Valley NVTEC is organising the Sunday Tractor Road Run in aid of Helen & Douglas House, a local charity that provides palliative, respite, end-of-life and bereavement care to life-limited children, young adults and their families.

Admission £10 for adults (£8.50 advance). Weekend tickets are £18 (£14 advance) and under 15s are admitted free. Weekend camping pass (three nights) for two adults is just £55, or just £45 in advance. Dogs on leads are welcome.
