On September 9 Bruton Knowles took part in its own Milk Bucket Challenge to help raise awareness surrounding low milk prices.

Ben Compton, Sam Pennington and Rebecca Parry braved having hundreds if litres of milk poured over them by dairy farmer Rob Davies at his farm in Sand Hurst, Gloucestershire.

The plucky trio hope their act will keep the plight of low milk prices front of mind to those involved in the industry and to consumers when they are out buying their milk.

Ben Compton of Bruton Knowles said: “We had a bit of fun doing this however for many dairy farmers across the country the issue of low prices is no laughing matter.

“We deal with a lot of those involved in the sector and many are finding it very tough at the moment to make ends meet.

“It was a bit cold but hopefully it will help fight farmers’ cause to get fair pricing for the milk they produce.”
