On Sunday 8th June hundreds of farms are opening for the biggest date in the farming and food calendar -  LEAF’s Open Farm Sunday. British farmers produce more than half of all the food we eat, so this is the perfect time to celebrate all that they do to feed the nation! From producing milk, cheese, meat, fruit and vegetables, to store cupboard staples such as breakfast cereals, flour, rapeseed oil and eggs, farmers also spend hours every week caring for the countryside.

Organised by LEAF (Linking Environment And Farming), Open Farm Sunday is a chance for visitors to meet farmers and discover for themselves the story behind their food.

Open Farm Sunday offers an informative and enjoyable day out for everyone, young and old alike.  Each farm plans their own unique event and many will include a host of activities from nature walks and farm tours, to sheep shearing, machinery displays and even cookery demonstrations.  You can search for participating farms near you and find out information on their event by visiting www.farmsunday.org. New farms are registering on a daily basis.
