SOUTH West residents are in for a rainy day today (Monday, December 4).
A yellow weather warning has been issued for rain, which covers parts of North Somerset, Somerset, Devon, Wiltshire, Gloucestershire and Dorset.
Until 6pm tonight, locals should expect:
- Flooding of a few homes and businesses;
- Spray and flooding on roads probably making journey times longer;
- Bus and train services probably affected with journey times taking longer.
If you do have to travel in heavy rain, you are urged to leave extra stopping distance from the vehicle in front.
The Met Office also advise that you ensure that all of your car lights and windscreen wipers are working.
If you believe that your property may be at risk of flooding, you should prepare an emergency flood kit and make a plan.
Any valuables, such as electrical devices and important documents, should be stored up high to protect them in the event of a flood.
