Firefighters had to react fast to save a horse in distress that had become entangled in its own trailer outside a Wiltshire hospital.
The incident occurred close to Chippenham Community Hospital at Rowden Hill at around 8.38am on Wednesday morning.
After the animal had got caught up in its trailer, the driver pulled into the hospital car park for safety.
Fire crews from Chippenham and Stratton got to the scene and rescued the horse once a vet had sedated the animal.
A Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were called to Rowden Hill, Chippenham to help a horse in distress.
“After it had been effectively sedated by a vet, firefighters were able to pull the horse free and get it on its feet.
“Our stop was at 11.04am.”
