A SHOW aimed at growers and plant buyers is set to take place next month. 

The South West Growers Show (SWGS), the only event in the region that is aimed at people from local authorities, garden centres, retail outlets and the landscaping industry, will be on October 4 2023.

The event, which was established in 1974, will showcase the latest plant introductions and new horticultural products and equipment. 

It will be held at The Matford Centre in Exeter, Devon. 

A spokesperson for the show said: "Visitors can expect to see over 60 exhibitors with a huge range of products on display from suppliers of wholesale plug plants, retail ready plants, growing media, machinery, pots and labels, garden centre ornaments plus so much more.

"Pre-registered visitors will recieve preferential parking, fast track entry and a hot drink voucher. Entry to the event is free."

The SWGS has been run by various groups including the BGLA (a subsidiary of the NFU) and The Grower Magazine. For the past nine years, the show has been organised by South West Growers Show Ltd., a company set up by local growers including representatives from Jackson Plants, Weetree Nurseries, Talaton Plants, Kernock Park Plants Ltd and XL Horticulture. 

From 2018 onwards, Kernock Park Plants Ltd has been running the show in its entirety.
