A tractor driver in the Mendips was caught by police for towing a machine and a flatbed with a 4x4 on top yesterday (Tuesday).
The Avon and Somerset Police Roads Policing Unit shared their find on Twitter yesterday afternoon as a reminder to farmers to stick to the law.
A large tractor has a sprayer hitched to it - which itself is towing a triple axle flatbed trailer, complete with a Mitsubishi L200 aboard.
It's quite the procession.
Farming machines are only allowed to tow two trailers when they do not have a load, the road safety officer told the driver.

The driver was also told that projections have to be made visible, seatbelts are compulsory and all loads must be made secure.
Although the police did not say that the driver was at fault on all of these points, they did say that they had provided 'education.'

The weight limit for agricultural tractor and trailer combinations is 31 tonnes. The trailer itself is limited to 18.29 tonnes - and this includes any load imposed on the tractor through the hitch.
