Ivybridge Young Farmers Club successfully completed a 24 hour charity Ploughathon in Kingston, Devon. Although tiring for all, it was a very enjoyable event aimed at raising £1000 for the Farming Community Network and Myeloma UK cancer support, both of which organisations are close to the hearts of this young farmers' group.
Rosamund Shinner said: "We would like to say a big thank you to all the businesses that supplied the equipment such as the tractors and ploughs. This included Masons Kings, MST, Marshall Plant Hire, Andrew Symons and Dunns Ploughs. The fuel was kindly supplied by local farmers and Heltor which was a huge help. This event wouldn’t have been possible without the parties mentioned above and the support from everyone else running the event. Lastly I would like to thank Mr Walters who kindly allowed us to plough his fields and enabling young aspiring farmers to gain valuable experience."
