Agricultural parts company MDT has announced that Ben Christon has joined the company as Sales Development Manager.

This announcement follows a year of record profits and expansion for the firm, based in Framlingham in Suffolk.

Ben has been involved with cultivation and tillage equipment for over 20 years and, in recent years has specialised in Tungsten Carbide and hard surface materials applied to wearing parts.

Ben will be based in Thirsk, ensuring that MDT now has country-wide representation for its agricultural wearing parts service.

Ben joins MDT at an exciting time for the business as the firm has recently announced a strategic partnership with KRAMP to offer over 400,000 product lines on its website.

This new online facility will broaden the core machinery parts range which already offers 20,000 lines from its store in Framlingham.

Mark Donsworth, managing director at MDT, said: “We are delighted to have Ben on board, his expertise and knowledge will be invaluable to our clients.

"The agricultural industry is currently facing a harsh economic climate along with the uncertainty of the Brexit negotiations.

"The business of agricultural wearing parts is going from strength to strength as farmers look to repair vehicles and equipment in a bid to keep costs and overheads down.

“Ben will head up the collaboration with KRAMP, offering an incredible range of products to our farmer and landowner clients.

"The new online facility will ensure that our clients experience the convenience of ordering online with the assurance of a fast and reliable delivery service, competitively priced.

"As farmers face so much uncertainty in other areas of the industry, the reliable delivery of products will be one less thing for them to worry about.”
