THERE were nine main awards presented on the evening, plus several special recognition commendations.

Winner of the Farm Manager of the Year award was James Kittow, whose Kilhallon Farm is situated very close to the Eden Project in mid-Cornwall.

He said: "I'm totally in awe of the whole event. I feel honoured and delighted for all my team who have helped me to achieve this."

The 43 year-old beef farmer has Red Rubies and Dexters across 60 acres and also has a meat business James Kittow - Butcher & Grazier.

"To win this and humbly accept it is for all the fantastic beef farmers I am surrounded by. I'd encourage all farm managers to get involved and nominate themselves for next year's awards, because they need to be recognised for the great work that they do."
