The Farming Community Network had a very successful Devon County Show as the 2016 show charity.
Over £4,000 was raised at raffles at the Stockman’s & Steward’s Suppers, and from donations made over the three days
Over 400 bags were handed out which contained information about FCN, recipe leaflets for beef and lamb and how to buy British at supermarkets.
Special thanks was given to the show committee for their help and support. Gray’s of Shenstone donated a Shire Horse Border fine arts piece and Natural Mat donated a King Size bed for prizes.
FCN thanked all the other companies who donated prizes, for Gilbert Stephens for providing refreshments and all the volunteers who helped over the three days.
The money will be used to help fund the charity's work supporting farmers both practically and pastorally
So far this year in Devon the charity has had more than 80 cases which is around what they normally have in a whole year
It is also currently involved in a project looking at the effect of Dementia on farming families – the charity is asking for people to get in touch if they have been affected by this
