THE Mare and Foal Sanctuary is looking for two enthusiastic and experienced people to join its board of trustees.

This rare and rewarding voluntary position would see the successful candidate work in partnership with the existing board of eight, using skills and experience to provide leadership and direction to the non-profit organisation.

The Sanctuary rescues, rehabilitates and rehomes horses in need and has recently expanded after securing the funds to build an onsite veterinary and welfare facility which was opened in June 2016.

Chairman of trustees Nigel Brown explains why the role would be rewarding for the right person and clarifies the level of commitment involved.

He said: “Trustees have responsibility over the Sanctuary’s direction and for ensuring the charity does what it was set up to do.

“Our board members come from all walks of life and are united by their desire to make positive changes to horse welfare, so we are looking for people who shares our passion to come and make a difference.

“We are open to applications from people with experience in any industry that they feel they can use to help. Enthusiasm, commitment and passion are just as important too.

“Your geographical location should be no issue in regards to your suitability providing you are willing to travel to attend a monthly meeting which will be planned well in advance.

“The only requirement is that you must be over 18 years of age.

“Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you need more information and we look forward to hearing from you soon.”
