Countrywide launch LPG service across Cornwall and Devon

Leisure, tourism, agricultural and rural business owners in Devon and Cornwall were introduced to a new liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) service which was launched at the Cornwall Farmers store in Wadebridge this week [28 April].

The launch follows Countrywide’s acquisition of Cornwall Farmers last year, and marks significant expansion for Countrywide’s LPG business in the South West. The network of 12 Cornwall Farmers stores enables Countrywide LPG to service all of Devon and Cornwall and appoint up to five new members of staff in the local area.

LPG specialists were on hand at the event to meet potential customers and to discuss the benefits of switching to Countrywide LPG. The team were also exhibiting at the Cornwall Home Show at the Royal Cornwall Showground, [30 April – 1 May] showcasing the benefits of using LPG to heat the home through bulk or cylinder options.

Scott Mann, Member of Parliament for North Cornwall, was there to support the launch, he said; “North Cornwall has a particularly high number of farms, businesses and homes which are not connected to mains gas. This service will be very welcome by the local rural community looking for more cost effective ways to fuel their businesses and homes. Cornwall Farmers has a great heritage in the county and it’s good to see it developing new services to support the rural economy.”

George Webb, LPG Business Manager at Countrywide, said: “It was great to meet local tradespeople and business owners at the launch event, and show them how we can make a positive difference to the way they run their businesses.

“As Cornwall and Devon are so rural with a high proportion of off-mains gas properties, there are a large number of homes and businesses in the south west that can really benefit from using Countrywide LPG, including commercial, domestic and agricultural businesses, as well as tourism businesses such as holiday parks. From heating homes to running farm machinery and with commercial applications such as forklift trucks, LPG is an extremely versatile and cost effective fuel.”

Countrywide has supplied bulk and cylinder LPG to homes, businesses and the farming community for over 35 years, and is the largest independent supplier of LPG in the UK.

LPG is an effective alternative to mains gas and oil for heating the home, hot water, real flame fires, cooking appliances plus running vehicles and farming equipment.

Orders are processed five days a week, supported by a 24-hour helpline which is open 365 days a year.
