We are doing a survey of dung beetle populations on UK farmland and need your help!

We are looking for beef farmers who would be willing to let a PhD researcher from the University of Bristol come to their farms and collect dung beetles. The survey will involve burying some small buckets on a pasture, baiting them with cattle dung, and returning 24 hours later to collect beetles which have been attracted.

Dung beetles are essential in agricultural ecosystems for dung degradation, nutrient cycling and pasture fertility, and the data will provide information on the health of these all-important insects on your farm and across England.
