Award-winning cheese maker Mary Quicke MBE will be on hand to speak to the area’s food and drink producers, at a special business event that is being held on the 10th September in Barnstaple.

With our reputation for producing some of the UK’s finest food and drink products, the South West is a hotbed of commercial activity in this exciting sector. However, whilst many businesses are growing at a significant rate, many are failing to effectively manage the financial side of a flourishing business.

The interactive event which is tailored towards the issues faced by food and drink producers, will look at how accounting data can help businesses develop within this sector. Presentations from leading industry figures including keynote speaker Mary Quicke, will cover topics such as how to understand the financial information that already exists within the business, how to get the figures that will assist steady growth and how this information can help businesses to make educated decisions about areas such as pricing, marketing, diversification and expansion.

The event is being organised by Pound Lane Business Accounting and its owner, Susie Kevern explained: “We want to provide a forum whereby local producers can come and gain commercial insight from brands that have experienced the challenges faced by this sector. The event will very much focus on how local businesses can be supported to grow a profitable future, something that is of interest to a wide range of producers in the area.”

The event is taking place on Thursday September 10, from 9.30am - 1.30pm at The Cedars Inn, Barnstaple, EX31 2HE and costs £25 per attendee if booked before the July 31 (£30 after this date).
