A team led by Prof. Janet Dwyer from the CCRI at the University of Gloucestershire was commissioned by the Exmoor Hill Farming Network, through North Devon+ (with funding support from Defra and the Exmoor National Park Authority), to pinpoint the current state of Exmoor farming and analyse how it may change in the future.
Exmoor Hill Farming Network invites you to our feedback meeting to discuss the findings of the state of farming survey conducted earlier this year, distributed to circa 400 farmers across Exmoor during January 2015. The findings look at how and why Exmoor farming has changed over the past ten years, and highlight key trends and concerns for the future, with recommendations for the EHFN, the National Park and Defra.
Profitability, TB impacts and environmental schemes feature high on the list of ongoing challenges, but there are also positive signs, including evidence of a younger generation keen to farm in and around Exmoor. Date: Tuesday 2nd June 2015 Time: 7pm – 9pm Venue: Exford Village Hall, Exford Free finger buffet will be provided.
Booking essential for catering purposes please register by contacting the EHFN office on 01643 841455 or by email.
