With the agricultural industry, particularly the sheep sector, at a cross roads, the National Sheep Association’s event ‘NSA Sheep 2018’ will focus on ‘thriving in an uncertain future’.
Phil Stocker, NSA chief executive, said: “Uncertainty around support payments and market opportunities in a post-Brexit world remain a huge concern for the sheep sector, and as a result, producers are being encouraged to grab every opportunity available.”
NSA Sheep 2018 will provide knowledge and information for producers to fine-tune their business, and is being held on Wednesday July 18 2018 at the Three Counties Showground, Malvern, Worcestershire, and is free to attend for NSA members.
The event will feature leading sheep industry experts, more than 250 trade stands and a busy programme of free technical seminars, demonstrations and workshops.
In line with the theme and the last event, NSA will also be running a day of farm tours the day before the event on Tuesday July 17 2018, which will include visits to two leading sheep farms.
Mr Stocker said: “This showcases what’s possible in practice on ‘real life’ sheep farms, and demonstrates that innovation is not just for farm trials. Although uncertain, we have exciting times ahead for the industry, and we need to ensure as a sector that we remain involved and up-to-date with all the changes taking place. NSA Sheep 2018 is an essential visit for anyone involved in the sheep industry.”
