Verm-X, the UK’s number one brand for intestinal hygiene control in animals, celebrates its 15th Anniversary this summer. Philip Ghazala founded the company in 2001 after researching alternatives to avoid the need to give pharmaceuticals routinely to his horses to manage these intestinal parasites. He developed Verm-X as a herbal approach and its popularity has been growing ever since as people have encountered problems of resistance from regularly treating their animals and pets with pharmaceuticals. The company has introduced products covering 26 different species, including poultry, dogs and cats, as well as natural remedies for promoting animal wellbeing and tackling certain skin allergies.

Verm-X has now received five Green Apple Awards, supported by the Government, for its efforts to reduce pharmaceutical use in agriculture and the Verm-X Smallholder Range is approved for use by Organic Farmers & Growers Ltd in organic systems.

Philip explains “I started Verm-X because, at the time, no one was offering a natural way to look after the intestinal health of my horses. I am very proud of the loyal customer base we have built since then and the growing issue of resistance in pharmaceutical anthelmintics and antibiotics is encouraging yet more people to try natural ways to manage the intestinal health of their animals.”

A host of industry leaders support Verm-X and its products, including Brand Ambassador Terry Beebe, Champion Poultry Breeder, who said “It is a real pleasure to be a Brand Ambassador for Verm-X which has led the way over the last 15 years in alternative treatments for intestinal hygiene in animals.”
