New rules came into force on April 6 regarding movement of livestock in England as part of the government's aim to eradicate bovine TB by 2019
Farmers in the Low Risk Area of England must arrange post-movement testing of cattle coming from the rest of England and Wales as a means of ensuring the Low Risk Areas remain TB free.
The new rules may affect livestock being transported to shows around the country. The Association of Show and AGricultural Organisations (ASAO) has requested a meeting with Defra to discuss the implications.
