The National Sheep Association (NSA) is delighted to announce the launch of a new legal helpline for its members, offering 30 minutes of free expert advice on any topic they may be struggling with in their farming businesses.
Phil Stocker, NSA Chief Executive, said: “This is a service for members that we’ve been working on for some time and are thrilled to now be launching in conjunction with Clarke Willmott Solicitors. This legal firm will direct members’ enquiries to the most appropriate expert within their national team, ensuring farmers get high quality advice on specific situations.
"Farming businesses are increasing complicated, be it tackling sheep identification rules, coping with legal requirements for employees or understanding cross compliance, so we hope NSA members will find it reassuring that extra help is on hand.”
The new legal service is included within the £50 per year NSA membership fee (£25 for under 27s) and is available to members as frequently as they require, as the free advice is 30 minutes per distinctly different topic. Members simply call the hotline, provide their membership number and outline their problem. If more than 30 minutes assistance is required, the member can instruct Clarke Willmott or any other legal firm.
Tim Russ, Head of Agriculture from Clarke Willmott Solicitors, said: “We are delighted to be working in partnership with the National Sheep Association and supporting its members. We have a specialist, full service team with many of our lawyers coming from hands-on farming families, so have a deep rooted understanding of, and are passionate about supporting, every part of the industry.”
The legal helpline telephone number is available from NSA. Call 01684 892661 or visit the members-only area at www.nationalsheep.org.uk.
