The last sheep market of the year in Liskeard saw a large crowd attend and all commission was donated to Cancer Research UK.

94 draft ewes saw a steady trade across the board and top on the day was £71 from Mr C Hill of SouthTreviddo, Horningtops.

A good entry of 150 fat lambs met a very strong trade, overall average of 177.5p/kg with some spirited bidding throughout.

Top per kilo on the day was 188p/kg for a pen of 41 kilos from David Couch of Cuttapitt, Couch’s Mill and top per head on the day was £85 sold by Steve Eastley of Bake Farm in Pelynt.

A firm trade for the 108 store lambs on offer saw the top price being £65 from David Conn of Penshoey. The last sheep sold in Liskeard was a pen of store lambs from regular supporter Robin Tamblyn of Morval Barton which was fitting as Mr Tamblyn has frequently been the last in when selling at the market over the past 30 years. His store lambs realised £64 and were bought by Roger Tamblyn of Treleathic.
